If you ask Baptist Mid-Missions’ Class of 2023, they would choose the latter. None of them consider themselves super Christians. They all faced doubts, fears, and weaknesses as they contemplated missionary service. It was only their faith in God’s enabling that pushed them forward.
We all rejoice in the forgiveness and acceptance we have in Christ. All that we are and have comes from Him, and we believe in His Lordship over our lives. It should be no surprise that service is the outworking of our faith in those very things. And He promises to honor faith, as Hebrews 11:6 affirms: “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
If the Class of 2023 could be considered in any way super Christians, it’s in the area of faith. They know they have nothing to offer except for what God makes possible through their lives. They are willing to trust Him with their “earthen vessels” and let their accomplishments come from God’s power and not their own (2 Cor. 4:7).
