Sam and Maria have served in San Pedro Sula, Honduras in church planting and leadership training since their marriage in June of 2000. They have two daughters who were both born in Honduras in 2002 and 2006.
Sam was saved in his home at the age of five and was baptized a year later. He surrendered to serve the Lord in ministry at age 15 and graduated from Bob Jones University with a BA ('86) and MA ('93) in theology and pastoral studies. Maria was saved at 16 in Honduras and was discipled in her local Baptist church. She has a BA in business and worked 10 years in management. She surrendered to mission ministry in 1999. They are burdened for the neglected peoples of urban areas in their city of over one million. They oversee the downtown daughter church along with development of a mountain camp and institute property, two hours away. The camp project can receive donations through giving to the "Honduran Camp Fund" through www.bmm.org. The daughter church is self-sustaining and completely independent. Three national leaders share the preaching duties in this work. Their leadership training ministries include yearly modular classes with visiting professors, and weekly courses taught by Sam. The need is great for biblical churches in this very religious, but lost, culture. They enjoy hosting short-term teams and individuals interested in joining God's global mission!
