Les and Carol Carew joined Baptist Mid-Missions in 2009 and became part of the Chad BMM team in 2014. They brought a passion for local church ministry and outreach in southern Chad with a focus on the large refugee population. Their vision includes expanding adult Sunday school programs in a church culture resistant to such initiatives, along with encouraging deeper Scripture engagement by mentoring church leaders in expository preaching and teaching.
Les has taken an active role in working with young pastors, helping them organize quarterly youth conferences that tackle pressing cultural issues. These events address topics such as marriage relationships, drug and alcohol abuse, and other relevant challenges. They also equip young people with practical and biblical guidance. He enjoys teaching and discipling young and old, and also ministers through interactive radio broadcasts on a local radio station.
Meanwhile, Carol has concentrated her efforts on using English as a Second Language (ESL) as a powerful tool for gospel outreach. Over the years, this ministry has seen remarkable growth with many young people coming to Christ. Through the Carews' leadership, a Chadian association (led by strong Christian leaders) has been established and is acquiring a property to secure the ministry’s future. Together, Les and Carol continue to mentor and equip emerging leaders, ensuring that this impactful ministry remains in capable national hands for years to come. Funding is yet needed to complete the purchase of this property. Please contact us through the link below for information regarding this BMM project #800729.
