Les and Carol Carew joined the Baptist Mid-Missions (BMM) Chad team in 2014 (OR 2009), bringing a passion for local church ministry and outreach to Chad’s large refugee population. Their vision includes expanding adult Sunday school programs in a church culture resistant to such initiatives and encouraging deeper scripture engagement by mentoring church leaders in expository preaching and teaching.
Les has taken an active role in working with young pastors, helping them organize quarterly youth conferences that tackle pressing cultural issues. These events address topics such as marriage relationships, drug and alcohol abuse, and other relevant challenges, equipping young people with practical and biblical guidance.
Meanwhile, Carol has concentrated her efforts on using English as a Second Language (ESL) as a powerful tool for outreach. Over the years, this ministry has seen remarkable growth. Through their leadership, a Chadian association led by strong Christian leaders has been established, along with the acquisition of a property to secure the ministry’s future. Together, Les and Carol continue to mentor and equip emerging leaders, ensuring that this impactful ministry remains in capable national hands for years to come.
