Vernon Rosenau receives honorary doctorate
Published: May 9, 2016

On May 6, 2016, BMM President Vernon Rosenau was granted an honorary doctorate of divinity by Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary (FBBC&TS) in Ankeny, Iowa. The ceremony took place during FBBC&TS’s spring commencement.

Dr. Rosenau’s degree was only the second such doctorate bestowed by FBBC&TS. Several years ago, their board of directors authorized granting the degree to individuals who have made significant ministry contributions and who are deemed worthy of the recognition.

Contributions cited by FBBC&TS included Dr. Rosenau’s education in missions and intercultural studies; his service as a third-generation missionary, including work in theological education in Africa; and his leadership in Africa as a field president and in the US as a BMM field administrator. The FBBC&TS website includes the statement, “The Lord has already gifted and qualified Vernon Rosenau to be the new president of Baptist Mid-Missions. Our recognition today is meant to be a further confirmation that he is God’s man for this new ministry.”

We extend our sincere appreciation to FBBC&TS not only for this honor granted to our president but also for their partnership with Baptist Mid-Missions in their excellent training of many missionaries who have served with us through the years.
