The 2018 School of Church Planting (SCP), held at CityLight Baptist Church in Culpeper, Virginia, ran from June 11 through June 14. Church planters with varying levels of experience gathered from Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Jamaica for 27 hours of intense biblical and practical training. Workshops covered everything from “The Biblical Foundations of Church Planting” to “Ethnic Church Planting” to “Preparing for Launch Day.” The minimal investment of time and registration cost was well worth the reward of time-tested instruction, wisdom, and resources.
Veteran missionaries Ken Davis and Roger McNamara launched the BMM School of Church Planting (SCP) 33 years ago, and it has become a tremendous resource for planters, pastors, and missionaries in the US and overseas. Those who attended concluded that the seminar covers things beyond what they learned in college or seminary. They described what they learned as “extremely practical, biblical, and field tested.” “If only I had had this seminar 20 years ago!” “Where were these guys all my life? This is the best kept secret.”
Next year’s SCP is scheduled for June 10–13 at Colonial Baptist Church in Blue Ridge, Virginia. Workshops will focus on growing healthy churches and revitalizing struggling works. If you desire to take the church you’ve launched to the next level, to strengthen your church’s community outreach, or to reinvigorate an established church, take advantage of the 2019 SCP.
