David and Kandie Stilwell

David grew up as a Baptist Mid- Missions missionary kid in Peru. After graduating from high school at Fetzer Memorial Christian Academy in Lima, he attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa, preparing to return to Peru for ministry. Kandie grew up in Indiana and studied nursing there. She had been praying for a missionary husband. We met in Indiana, married in 1991, and arrived in Trujillo, Peru, in 1995.

While our main ministry is at Iglesia Bautista Victoria (Victory Baptist Church), which was started in a team effort along with David’s parents (Stephen and Evelyn Stilwell) in 1999, we are also involved in two other important ministries. We both teach at Seminario Bautista del Peru (Peru Baptist Seminary), helping to prepare young men and women for ministry. We are also involved in the camp ministry at Campamento Bautista La Fortaleza (Fortress Baptist Camp) as directors for retreats. David serves on the camp board, and Kandie is the camp nurse.
