David and Ruth Kimmel

Ruth and Dave met at our alma mater, Cedarville University. We graduated in 1993 and were married that same year. God has blessed us with two daughters, Celeste and Amber.

We have been members of Tri-County Baptist Church in West Chester, Ohio, since 1994. We thought God would always want us to serve Him there, but the Lord had other plans. God led us to Romania, in part, because of a mission trip Dave took to Belarus in 2004. During that trip, God opened his eyes to the spiritual needs of the former communist countries of Eastern Europe.

In July 2005, we surrendered our lives to full-time missions during the BMM Tri-Annual Conference being held at Tri-County Baptist that year. God allowed us to take a survey trip to Romania in April the next year, which confirmed that God was indeed calling us to Romania. We were appointed by BMM in 2006 and completed deputation three years later. Our family moved to Romania in 2009 to join the BMM church planting team working among the Roma (Gypsy) people.
