Aaron and Stephenie Cochrell

Cochrell portrait 22

As a couple, we both acknowledge God's work in our lives from a young age. Through the testimony of my parents I accepted Christ at age five, and Stephenie trusted Him at age four. Growing up, visiting missionaries had a huge impact on us both through their stories of living for God where He placed them. I took a mission trip to Salt Lake City that impacted me and led me to major in missions at Piedmont Baptist College. By attending Piedmont I heard about, and eventually lived, in Peru for 11 months. Stephenie spent seven months in Brazil in order to help and encourage missionaries in the Amazon region of Brazil. It was through this time that God challenged her to pursue missions and also guided her to attend Piedmont. After we were married in 2008, we joined Baptist Mid-Missions in 2010, arriving in Peru for our first term of service in 2013.

We are currently busy planting a church in the city of Cusco. God has blessed us with a team of coworkers, and we are grateful to see the Iglesia Bautista Roca Fuerte growing! Reaching Cusco, Peru, is strategically important, because it is a crossroads for surrounding areas. Through quality church planting and training of Peruvians, we are excited to see more churches planted both in the city of Cusco and the surrounding areas.
