I (Stan) grew up in a pastor’s home in Wisconsin and Michigan. I came to Christ as a very young boy and was baptized at Berean Baptist Church in Detroit, MI. I got to see home missions and pastoral ministry first hand as a boy growing up. God led me to Faith Baptist Bible College (where I met Jan) and Denver Baptist Theological Seminary. After college and seminary, the Lord led me into pastoral ministry. Jan and I served two churches over a period of 45 years in Colorado - 12 years as an assistant pastor and 33 years as the senior pastor at Rustic Hills Baptist Church in Colorado Springs. I also had the privilege of serving on the Councils of Baptist Church Planters (BCP), the Rocky Mountain Association of Regular Baptist Churches (RMARBC) and the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches (GARBC). During those years, God enabled us to visit mission fields in Peru, Spain, Germany, Nepal and the Philippines. The need for theological training among pastors and future pastors overseas became apparent. We “retired” from local church ministry and we are working to meet this training need as part of the Global Fit Partners program with BMM.
I (Jan) also grew up in a pastor’s home in Kansas City. I trusted Christ as a young girl and was baptized at Olivet Baptist Church in Westwood (Kansas City), KS. Stan & I were married in 1981 and went immediately into ministry. God allowed me to serve alongside my husband in local church ministry, teaching children and ladies as well as the ministry of music. I was also able to teach school at the elementary level in two Christian schools and one charter school. My experiences as a teacher and my background as a pastor’s wife provide me with the resources to assist my husband in this ministry and come alongside ladies who wish to serve the Lord.
God blessed us with four wonderful children and nine (so far) grandchildren. Stan enjoys reading, fishing and sports (especially hockey). Jan enjoys crafting and taking care of our home filled with all kinds of plants.
