We first considered missions during our last year of college at Bob Jones University. A friend of Jim’s visited us right before he and his family left for Indonesia as missionaries. Since both of us were majoring in education, he challenged us regarding teaching missionaries’ children (MKs).
In 1983, just months after graduation, we arrived in Lima, Peru, and began teaching MKs at Baptist Mid-Missions’ Fetzer Academy. In our 35 years in Peru we have taught MKs, worked with U.S. college students on a one-year internship program called Arriba, and Jim has served as pastor for the past 17 years.
In this past year Jim has begun working as one of the Project Coordinators with Bibles International. Our goal for the remaining years God gives us to serve Him in Latin America is to assist in seeing God’s Word translated into more languages in this hemisphere.
