As you have seen from the stories in the preceding pages, life and ministry are often impacted by unforeseen events and opportunities. Just when things seem to be stable, they may actually be about to change. You have read of a missionary family that went to the field with no plans to become printers of theological books, yet that is precisely what the Lord had in mind. Others were ministering in eastern Europe, when they were suddenly inundated with refugees of war, opening a whole new avenue for the Gospel to them. Another missionary family faced country-changing closed doors, only to discover that God was redirecting them to a vast ocean of ministry opportunity.

In each of these life-shifting events, your missionaries embraced the changes the Lord brought into their lives. They assessed their new circumstances and found providential opportunities and platforms from which to proclaim the Gospel of Christ.
