Rank upon rank of King David’s countrymen brought gold, silver, bronze, and other valuables from their own wealth, giving lavishly to build what would become a structure of unparalleled earthly beauty, a temple for the God of heaven. David could have easily relished the glamor of it all, but instead he prays:
– 1 Chronicles 29:14
David rightly identifies a simple but powerful truth: God provides earthly wealth, and the ability to accumulate it, for His eternal purposes. Their gifts were obviously not from “cash flow,” but from what they and their families had accumulated over the years. As you seek to steward well God’s provision, you have a similar opportunity to accelerate the spread of the gospel. Consider the Qualified Charitable Contribution (QCD):
If you’re like the 60% of Americans who save for retirement, you have access to this formidable, tax-advantaged strategy. A QCD is a gift given to ministry from your traditional IRA or retirement account. Because it comes directly from a bank or financial institution, there is no taxable event for you and, therefore, no income tax to be paid.
That’s right: your pre-tax dollars go exclusively to gospel ministry with zero tax liability!
Other Items of Note
Maybe you’ve saved for decades and are in or near retirement. A QCD is a prime opportunity to bring your well-earned, God-given dollars full-circle: giving to Christ-centered ministry with no tax burden!
