How to Boost Your Missionaries' Impact

A retiring missionary reflected on her ministry: “I look back on the years of the Lord’s work, and it’s a series of highlights that bring me joy. Of course, there were dark days, valleys of loss and sadness along the way. But I encouraged my heart in the Psalms on those days and found that in the fellowship of our mission family there were kind-hearted brothers and sisters in Christ who understood and who knew how to help.”

While we all experience spiritual and emotional conflicts, being isolated in a strange culture can amplify the missionaries’ stress. BMM’s field administrators have been there and can encourage, counsel, and mentor effectively. Safe Haven for Missionary Soul Care is a special ministry designed to promote longevity and effective, fruitful service for every member of the BMM mission family.

Regional enrichment conferences such as BMM’s Pause Conference are created with encouragement in mind. These missionary gatherings are rich with preaching, singing, and spending time with new friends. By design they also provide an environment in which missionaries share new ministry methods from neighboring nations. The result is a cross-pollination of gospel-promoting strategies that will continue to strengthen and enhance our outreach in varied and ever-changing cultural landscapes.
