You’ve read about the new missionary appointees. Their backgrounds, callings, and future ministry plans are unusual and exciting! They have different burdens: from Slovakia to a Creative Access Nation, from Bible translation ministries to reaching the Deaf community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is almost nothing “typical” about these missionaries! Their ministries hail from “outside the box”—beyond our normal expectations.
An increasing number of BMM donors are also finding creative ways to be ministry partners by “outside-the-box” giving.
Here’s “the box”: when we give to our church or to a ministry, we automatically reach for our wallet or purse: for cash or our checkbook. Giving regular income is great, but we seldom ask if there are additional ways to give.
For instance, you might reduce your tax burden when you make gifts of appreciated long-term investments, an interest in your business, or a piece of real estate. Today, many donors make tax-free distributions from their IRAs. People give works of art, used machinery, crops, and other valuables, receiving charitable deductions.
BMM donors have given gifts of farmland, real estate, oil/gas/mineral rights, insurance policies, unique collections like coins, and much more. These are sometimes direct gifts, or they can fund Charitable Gift Annuities or other planned gifts. We partner with a variety of experts to help determine the value of these gifts and to supply the documentation to maximize your tax benefit. Together, we can assist you.
Now is an excellent time to examine your resources. God richly supplies us with all things to enjoy—we are to be rich in good works, ready to give and willing to share (1 Tim. 6:17-18).
How has God positioned you to amplify your giving and magnify His name?
