Missions Synergy

How many people does it take to start a church and then see it through to maturity and graduation? It’s a process of the church becoming self-governing, self-supporting, and led by a national pastor. The case could be made that such an endeavor requires the combined efforts of hundreds of people, all pulling together through prayer, financial support, and so much more.

In 3 John 8, the partnership between missionaries and those who send and support them is described in terms of “fellow workers for the truth.” The phrase “fellow workers” is based on the Greek word sunergoi and is the basis for our English term, synergy. Synergy is used to describe those who work together for a common cause, and their combined efforts produce multiplied results. Rather than 5+5 equaling 10, 5X5 equals 25.

Rather than 5+5 equalling 10, 5x5 equals 25. Far more is accomplished together than apart.

Far more is accomplished together than apart. What a beautiful picture of missionary endeavors! Senders work alongside those who are sent, and together they can accomplish far more for the gospel.

Thank you for the vital role you play in the Great Commission. As those who pray and give, you are vital to global evangelism. Through our synergistic efforts, missionaries are being upheld, and God is multiplying His work around the world.
