It’s Saturday evening, and that cold you have been struggling with is only getting worse. Your throat is scratchy, and your voice is hoarse. You begin to wonder: will I even have a voice tomorrow to preach?
Having served the Lord in ministry for nearly 34 years, I have had many Saturdays like that. In some cases, I even warned someone that they may need to be ready to fill in for me. By God’s grace, I have never had to call in my backup. God has always given me a voice to preach His Word.
But I realize that the day will come when my voice is silenced, at least when it comes to proclaiming the gospel here on earth. Instead, I will be using my voice to praise my Lord in heaven. I am so thankful that when that happens, there will be so many other people that will be voices for the gospel.
This year’s new class of missionaries has already been a voice for the gospel. But their collective voice is about to get louder, and perhaps even more clarion, as they step out into the mission field of God’s choosing.
Learn about them. Pray for them. And perhaps God will lay it upon your heart to invite them to share more about their ministry, potentially amplifying your gospel voice and theirs around the world.
