Missions is not a very popular thing to do with your life in today’s culture. But then, it never has been. Choosing to surrender your life to take the gospel to someone who’s never heard is a big commitment. Stepping out of your comfort zone and inserting yourself into someone else’s story can be daunting. It takes a heart for God, a willing heart that’s ready to listen to God’s call.

Developing a heart for God requires loving the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). It involves spending much time with Him… learning to love what He loves… seeking things that are above where God is (Colossians 3:1-2)… serving Him in all you do, not for personal gain or reward, but for His glory. A heart, surrendered to God and desiring His will and plan, can then hear God’s call.

For some, that call is missions.
