Editorial Bautista Independiente (EBI) is the Spanish Literature Division of Baptist Mid-Missions. EBI is a publisher, committed to the production and distribution of biblically-based Spanish literature. Our publications include Sunday School materials, Theological Education by Extension (TEE) studies, textbooks for Bible schools and seminaries, devotional books, Bible commentaries, gospel tracts, specialized books declaring the distinct biblical beliefs of Baptist churches, Christian books for adults and children, and books dealing with the issues of the day.
In 1960, missionaries Rev. Charles and Dr. Mary Cook, convinced of the need for a Spanish literature ministry, transferred from Peru to Puerto Rico to begin this vital ministry. In 1981, EBI moved from Puerto Rico to Florida and, after several moves to larger facilities, settled into its current building, which houses all aspects of the ministry. God worked wonderfully in providing the funds for this building. Today EBI is debt-free.
EBI’s staff consists of five career missionary couples: Gary and Bernice Hilliker, Darrel and Lori Jingst, Richard and Sheila Meyer, Robert and Georgia Owen, and Marvin and Joan Stephens. They are responsible for all of the editing, printing, and distribution of our materials.
EBI also carries quality publications from other publishers, including Spanish Bibles. This allows us to provide a complete line of biblically sound literature products for Spanish-speaking missionaries and nationals.
Editorial Bautista Independiente is committed to:
Sound Doctrine.
We will personally and corporately remain true to the Word of God in all areas of our lives and ministry. Our publications will reflect Baptist distinctives taught in the Word of God.

We will serve Hispanic churches by providing quality training and training materials which are (1) needed to assist in the equipping of the saints and (2) affordable to the majority.
