Prayer needs and answers to prayer for November 2008

Answers to Prayer

North America—Alaska:  Dean and Julie Blood are praising God that the church plant in Peters Creek has completed their building project debt-free!  They are now saving for a pastoral fund, as the church has voted to go self-supporting. They are laying the groundwork and training the church on calling a pastor.

North America—Church Planting & Development, Cleveland, Ohio: Michael and Sherri Vanek are rejoicing over the profitable summer at Faith Baptist Community Church. Seven children from the community center were sponsored to go to a local Christian camp for a week, and one girl was saved.  Two girls were saved through the VBS program.  They also had two men who were baptized into church membership.

North America—Church Planting & Development, Grand Rapids, Michigan: Larry and Pat Groat gladly report that seven people were baptized in their Spanish church plant in Michigan on August 24.

North America—Church Planting & Development, Citrus Springs, Florida:  Dick and Hae Ja Brosseau praise the Lord that in July, Grace Baptist took another step towards becoming self-supporting, by paying off the church mortgage.  They are planning a mortgage-burning ceremony in November, when all their people are back.  Please pray with them that they will be able to graduate the church before the end of 2010.

Prayer needs

North America—Church Planting & Development, Boston, Massachusetts: Colin and Tonia Landry have a considerable piece of property for the middle of the city and want to use it to full advantage.  They have solid plans that just need implementing.  They need new windows, the auditorium painted, a new bathroom, some updating on a bathroom, and masonry work outside.  The church building had gone without repair for many years and needs attention.  If you are interested in helping, contact Colin by e-mail: bostonstorm@msn.com.

North America—Campus Bible Fellowship, Charlotte, North Carolina: Jeff and Kim Abernethy ask that you pray specifically for the spiritual opposition they are feeling so pointedly on campus.  They have experienced many roadblocks and detours, which gives them indication they are certainly in the right place!  Several students are asking for them to provide more teaching on spiritual warfare.  Pray for Jeff and Kim as they design lessons that will go along with what God wants to do on the University of North Carolina campus. They feel that they are on the brink of God’s spirit being unleashed on the campus in an awesome way.
