When the door closed on Pete and Gail Tidd’s Venezuela ministry in 2009, it was the start of a new ministry. Visiting their daughter in Utah, the Tidds were amazed at the number of Hispanics and how few ministries were available to them.
Baptist Mid-Missions connected the Tidds to Mike and Neva Bardon, BMM church planters in Santaquin. They also teamed with Carlos, a Mexican Christian with Bible institute training.
While helping the Bardons’, the Tidds also launched a Sunday morning Hispanic Bible study in a nearby city. Numbers grew steadily, and they started a Spanish church service this March, along with a prayer service. More than 40 attend on Sundays.
Carlos is the main preacher, and Pete and Gail fill in wherever needed. As the church grows more self-sufficient, Carlos hopes to quit his job and become full-time pastor. In the future, the Tidds would like to establish a Spanish Bible institute to train other Hispanics
