Prayer needs and answers to prayer for February 2012

Prayer Needs

Brazil: Praise the Lord with Jim and Julie Leonard. On December 2 the Cariri Baptist Seminary officially finished their school year. Seven men and two women graduated.

Brazil: Rick and Gayle McLain continue to call on homes within the neighborhood of their church.  Please pray for results as they contact some who have never heard the gospel.

Brazil: Jan Reiner requests specific prayer for the salvation of Sydney. He is the husband of Nalva, a faithful church member.

Brazil: Pray for Maricelo and Fabiano. Shawn and Donna Alexander report that these two have not missed a church service since December 14.  They told the Alexanders that they are “still in the process” of getting saved.  Please pray.

Brazil: Jimmy and Rhonda Shaw are happy to announce that both the Bela Vista Baptist Church and the Vitoria Baptist Church have called pastors.  Please pray for their financial and adjustment needs.

Dominican Republic: Heidi Van Dyke asks you to continue to pray for spiritual growth and wisdom for the churches in the Dominican Republic.

Answers to Prayer

EBI (Spanish Publications): Praise the Lord with Gary and Wilma Sammons.  January 5–23, 2012, Gary had the opportunity to teach modular theology courses in Venezuela and Ecuador.  It was a wonderful opportunity!

Haiti: Dr. Brinson and Carol McGowan are rejoicing over their recent trip to Haiti. Their last Sunday was spent at Kris Kapab (Christ is Capable) Baptist Church.  At the close of the service following Pastor Apollon’s challenging Christmas message, approximately 35 teens and adults came forward to pray and rededicate their lives to better serve the Lord.  What an encouragement to see the Holy Spirit moving in the lives of His people.

Mexico: Tom and Nancy Jessup are thankful for a woman who recently received the gift of eternal life when she accepted Christ as her Savior. Her mother received assurance of her salvation. She had prayed and asked the Lord to save her two years ago, but she had not attended the services or even acknowledged her profession of faith.

Peru: Rejoice with Gary and Penny Whipple. As of December 4, 2011, Promise Baptist Church graduated and is now an officially organized church.
