Ursulina lives in the Dominican Republic, where missionary Heidi VanDyke works. Although Ursulina felt secure in her salvation, God in His mercy sent true believers across her path to help her know where salvation really lies.
I'm Ursulina and I'm going to tell you my testimony.
I repented and converted to faith in Jesus Christ alone, because I once believed that by the works that I did I was going to save myself, but it isn't by works, rather by faith.
I work together with many Christians, and before I accepted Christ I used to say that I was saved (because of the works that I did). One coworker asked me, "What percent saved are you?" I answered, "Ninety-eight percent." Another asked me, "What day did you receive Christ? I answered, "I don't remember receiving Jesus, because since I was born I've been going to church."
But time passed and a missionary named Heidi VanDyke arrived here, and she visited me in my home and spoke to me and taught me from the Bible that it is not by works that we are saved. Then I began to read the Bible for myself where she had showed me. What a surprise I got! In the days that followed I thought, But according to how I am thinking, I'm never going to be saved, because it is by faith that we're saved!
After having learned these things, I began to think, If I don't repent I'm going to be lost. I have to accept Jesus. After knowing how to be saved, I said to a coworker, "I'm going to accept the Lord soon," because she and others were always talking about the Lord with me. Later during a work meeting, I felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit. I called my coworker to tell her, I wanted to accept the Lord right then, but I was scared to. So this coworker went immediately and called another coworker and said to him, "Come, let's pray with Ursulina--she wants to accept the Lord.
Well, now I say, I am saved one hundred percent, by faith, and I made my decision the 14th of August in 2007. The missionary who came to my house to talk to me about the Word of God disciples me to this day.
