Dtim, her husband Kreuk (pictured above), and daughter Bea live next to the church/student center that Ed and Darlene Weber work with in Thailand. When Ed and Darlene first met Dtim, they wondered how they could be a witness to her. She was a very angry and stressed person, getting drunk every night. She once hired someone to shoot another man, but he was unsuccessful.
Ed and Darlene chose to live Christlike lives before her—every day for two years. This made a connection with Dtim. As her heart grew soft, God worked in her. When Kreuk had a stroke, Dtim offered her son Warakon to Ed and Darlene to adopt, being unable to care for him themselves.
Shortly after the Webers began caring for Warakon (now named Boaz), God gave Dtim the grace to stop drinking. She sat in on her first Sunday Bible study, sober for the first time in two years. Dtim’s daughter Bea was the first child to accept Christ in the Webers’ ministry, and a few months later, Dtim became the first born-again adult.
Dtim regularly attends church and discipleship Bible study. No longer an angry person, Dtim is growing in the Lord. Her husband has seen the change in her life and has decided to remove the idols from his shelves. Dtim, Kreuk, and Bea are very close to the Webers and are delighted that Boaz has a good new home. His adoption has become a beautiful story of God’s sovereignty in all their lives.
Editor's Note: We praise the Lord that Kreuk accepted Christ as his Savior in August 2008!
