The Technical Assistance Service Korps (TASK) of Baptist Mid-Missions facilitates brief periods of missionary service by those with special skills needed in the work, as recommended by their churches. It enables specialized workers to get out to the mission fields for brief periods of service with a minimum of red tape.

Typical TASK Force Ministries

- Medical personnel serving in a mission hospital for 2 or 3 weeks

Medical or other professionals lecturing in a university in a closed country for 2 weeks

- Technicians setting up labs and training national personnel

- Technicians helping at a radio station

- Construction specialists helping to build a church, hospital, or camp

- Construction workers in a Men for Missions team from a church

Nature of Program
TASK Force is designed to get people out to the field quickly for short periods of time, so the application process is uncomplicated, relying on the clearance of the sending church.

- Negotiated invitation from missionaries on the field

- Brief period of service, 1 week to 2 months

- No finances are handled; directed through the sending church if need be

- No health insurance coverage provided; volunteers have their own

- One-step application that includes pastoral approval on behalf of the church

- Commissioning not called for

The simple application process calls for linkage of needs with skills and home-church approval. No mission funds or insurance are involved. TEAMS of project workers from a church can readily participate through the TASK Force.

TASK Requirements:

1. Member of an independent Baptist church
2. An openness to the leading of the Lord regarding missionary service
3. Two references from persons who can attest to character and fitness for missionary service (One of these references should be the pastor of home church.)
4. Submission of the proper application
5. Proper legal documentation and willingness to receive the necessary immunizations required for the country you will visit
6. Proof of medical insurance that will cover you outside (if applicable) the United States
