prayer requests october 2011

Brazil:  Paul and Susan Van Loh ask that you pray for two people and their families. They need to accept Christ as their Savior.  Please pray that their minds will be opened and that they will understand the glorious message of salvation.

Brazil:  Pray with Barry and Ellen Farlow.  Barry has chosen to pursue further education to be better able to teach in the Master’s Program.  He begins his first module when they return home for furlough in December 2012.

Brazil:  On September 4 David and Geri Smith’s church began a new series in Matthew 5 on the Beatitudes.  Lord willing, it will run through the month of October.  Please pray that the Lord will use this study to bring His children closer to Him.

Campus Bible Fellowship International, Cleveland, Ohio:  Pray for Mary Amesbury as she organizes the program at Cleveland State University.  Attendance at Bible Studies has increased.  She recently collected 90 names for the mailing list.  Although the majority of these will never show up for a Bible study, they do receive a weekly devotional and information about CBFI events.

Campus Bible Fellowship International, Miami, Florida:  The International Services Office at Florida International University allowed Mike and Sharon Keller to bring 250 gift bags containing a Gospel booklet, contact information, and goodies to orientation.  There were 900 first-time arrivals in America at orientation.  Please pray that the Gospel booklets will be read and lives will be touched through this outreach.

Church Planting and Development, Boston, Massachuetts:  Pray for Dr. Bill Edmondson who recently wrote of his passion for reaching into urban areas.  “The local Christian church is the organism that is able to extend uncorrupted life to the cities of our world.  Yet our cities wait for Christians who tend to minister in suburbia or rural areas.  What is needed are strong urban churches who, by design, minister to the full demographic of the city in a way that honors God by rescuing people—all kinds of people.  This is my zeal, and I hope it consumes me.  Thank you for joining us as we seek to build such a church in Boston.”

Jamaica: Dr. Ken Rathbun has recently been named as Academic Dean of Fairview Baptist Bible College.  Pray for Ken and Cléa as they continue in ministry at Bay Life Baptist Church as well as assuming new responsibilities at the College.

India: Dan and Laura Gillette have returned to India to minister in the Life English Center in Delhi.  Pray for the Gillettes as they begin working in this new outreach.

New Zealand: The OASIS Enrichment Conference will be held in Dunedin, New Zealand, in early 2012.  Pray that the times of fellowship and the ministry of the Word will impact the lives of all the missionaries who participate.

Spain:  Kent and Belén Albright are thankful for His provision.  Three new couples have joined the ranks of BMM Spain and are currently on deputation.  Please pray with the Albrights for these young couples as they brave the deputation trail.

Zambia:  Please pray with Susie Kallal for the salvation of Mr. S.
