Baptist Youth Ministries: Nancy Knopf asks prayer for her Bible Teens group. Their studies have been in Genesis (the power of God in creation), and next they will learn how everything changed when sin entered the world. Knowing and understanding Genesis 1-3 is key to understanding the whole Bible and life itself. She has a small but sharp group of young people. However, Bible knowledge and Christian growth are new territory for most of them. Some need salvation.
Church Planting & Development, Canada: Cyril and Lois Syroteuk ask prayer for a man who has attended the church in which they serve. They have had Curtis and his family over for dinner, along with his friend, who is a believer. The man indicated by raised hand in one church service that he is unsaved, but he is unwilling to “give anything up” at this point. They have visited him a number of times, and it is obvious that he is unhappy and unsettled. Pray that he would accept the Lord as his Savior and find the peace for which he is looking.
Spanish Publications: Editorial Bautista Independiente (EBI) is still in need of additional key personnel for their ministry team. Please pray with them that the Lord will provide in His time.
France: Please continue to pray with Jonathan and Cherith Teachout regarding their current visa applications. Temporary visas have been issued, but they are still waiting on the year-long ones.
Japan: David and Melody Yoshida ask prayer for the many people they are reaching out to in Japan. One of their son’s friends recently started attending their church. He is searching for truth. Pray he will continue to come to church until he has claimed the Truth for his own. The Yoshidas also ask prayer for T., who is considering baptism, and for Mrs. S. and I., who attend English Bible class. Both are in need of salvation.
Native American Ministry Team, Canada: Carrie Thompson and Liana Wiebe have resumed their teen girls’ Bible study. Their desire is to encourage the teen girls who are believers, especially the ones who came to know the Lord at camp this summer. They started out with three girls, and have also invited two others. The girls have not been consistent, so pray that they would have a desire to learn the Word and come consistently.
Peru: Pray with John and Debbie Poe and the Viña Alta church in Peru as they are planning a baptismal service for late January 2012.
Scotland: Please pray with Glen and Tammy Galbraith. Pray specifically that the Lord will bring their church congregation closer to Himself, even through the hard times.
Thailand: Duane and Hannah Scott, along with Nate and Maam Beckman, stand in the need of prayer as they deal with flooding in the area of Bangkok where they live. Due to the flooding they had to evacuate the area. There was damage to the church and to the Scotts’ home. Pray that the waters would recede soon and that the damage would not be too extensive. Pray also for their health and safety as they deal with clean up and repair.
